YOU SPOKE, WE LISTENED

Thank you to all of our students who provided their feedback in our last student survey. Your feedback is extremely important to us and each term we do what we can to continuously improve our courses, campuses and resources.

This page is aimed to share our improvements and provide updates on our ‘You Spoke, We Listened’ campaign.

CAMPUS IMPROVEMENTS

ALL CAMPUSES

  • We have increased our mental health support services for all students
  • We have started student focus groups on each campus. Join our student experience team for a chat and share what is important to you.
  • A top priority has been making your campuses COVID safe during the pandemic
  • The 2022 ALG Student Ambassadors will announced soon. The selected Ambassadors will share their experiences throughout 2022 and represent the student cohort at ALG events.

ACADEMIC IMPROVEMENTS

ALL COURSES

We continue to listen to your feedback and update your assessments to make them easier to understand when English is your second language.

We continue to update our trainer marking guides so they can provide faster and improved feedback to you on your assessments.

Even though the pandemic lockdowns closed down many businesses, ALG managed to place over 500 students into early childhood and aged care placements for Term 4 to ensure students could continue to move through and complete their courses.

AGEING

We updated your first aid subject to the latest training materials

We have increased our support of students while on work placement to ensure you have more regular check-ins with Friday online drop-in support sessions.

COMMUNITY SERVICES, COUNSELLING & MENTAL HEALTH

We are re-introducing the client-facing counselling clinic for Diploma of Counselling students from Term 1 2022 (both in-person and online).

MASSAGE

We have made improvements on the practical assessment for Massage Foundations where students are assessed throughout the term so this takes the pressure off of needing to perform your best on the assessment day.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

An increased focus on supporting all our students on Work Placement with more regular contact and follow up.

We are working hard to launch the new and latest versions of the Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood qualifications that students can start studying in Term 1 2022

FITNESS

We updated your first aid subject to the latest training materials

We are working on a regular series of guest speakers to help improve your connection to and understanding of the industry.

YOGA

We have continued to refine and simplify your assessments and have them focused on supporting you to become a great Yoga trainer.

We have increased the number of guest speakers presenting industry insights

We are close to opening our own Yoga studio in Sydney

STUDENT VOICE FACEBOOK GROUP

This Facebook group is for our students to join and will be managed by our Campus Student Voice Representatives.

It is an open and safe ‘private group’ where you can ask each other questions, share ideas, exchange study tips, or simply encourage each other along to successfully complete their respective courses. This group is a great way to share community news and events across all campus locations.
