Mental Health Tool Kit
The COVID19 Help Hub released a Mental Health Tool Kit for International Students!
Studying abroad is an exciting experience but with all that is happening in the world with Coronavirus (COVID-19), there is also a lot of uncertainty and challenges. With that in mind, we have gathered some useful information regarding mental health and tools that may help you through this moment.
LET'S TALK ABOUT SELF CARE
While you need to be attending classes, completing and submitting assessments and working to support yourself, it can sometimes feel like your own physical and mental well-being are put on the back burner and forgotten about.
However, your mind and body should be your top priority! Being healthy in both physical and mental capacities means that you are at the top of your game always and can be ready to take on anything.
Self-Care should be at the top of your to-do list, each week and each day. Self-Care can range from small things to much bigger things.
Maybe try some of the following;
- Tidying up your living space! Having a clean environment can help clear your mind and then it’s one less thing to worry about.
- Read a chapter of a new book! A bit of a reader? Escape to another world for a little while to unwind. Find somewhere comfy, whether inside, at the park or in a library sometimes reading can help get rid of some built-up stress.
- Go for a walk! Something a bit more casual and relaxing, disconnect from all of the screens and connect to nature. Listen to those birds and bask in that sunlight (safely, of course, always be sun smart!).
Whether it’s a task you’ve been putting off, making sure to drink enough water or just a guilty pleasure of yours, it is so important to do those things you enjoy because those are the things that keep you going!
So in between all the studying and the working, always make sure to schedule in that little bit of “Me-Time” as well.
